Instructions for Disassembling the Stalk Switch on Peugeot 207

To disassemble the stalk switch, which controls the indicators, lights, and windscreen wipers, you must first remove the steering wheel and then the airbag. Before proceeding with disassembly, it is recommended to disconnect the battery to avoid triggering warning lights or accidentally deploying the airbag. Start by disconnecting the battery terminal, then access the holes behind the steering wheel spokes with a screwdriver to release the springs that secure the airbag to the spokes. Move the airbag away enough to disconnect the related connectors by first removing the safety clips. At this point, unscrew the steering wheel fastening bolt and slide it off the steering column (there is a reference notch for centring) before removing the plastic covers that encase the stalk switch. Disconnect the connectors and loosen the bolt of the metal clip that secures the stalk switch to the steering column to complete the disassembly, taking care to avoid accidental rotations that could damage the ribbon of the slip ring.
