Skoda Fabia - Video tutorial

Model: Skoda Fabia NJ, Mark3 - Years 2014-2021
Part: Instrument cluster
Operation: Common reasons why the engine light remains on in a Skoda Fabia.

In this video, we see what could be the most common reasons why the engine check light remains on, and therefore the car requires a repair. One reason why it could be on is the gas cap: it may not be properly closed or the gasket may be damaged; another reason could be the oxygen sensor, which if faulty will give a poor reading of the exhaust fumes. If it is not damaged, we can try to clean it, otherwise we will have to replace it. Another problem is the air intake; perhaps a flexible hose is punctured, or a gasket is loose or damaged. Another problem could be the MAF sensor, which measures the airflow and is located on the air intake; the best solution is to replace it. Another problem is a dirty or clogged catalytic converter. It is not easy to reach, but it could be a reason why the oxygen sensor gives a wrong reading. Cleaning it is not easy, so the best solution would be to replace it. Then, of course, a reason could be the poor condition of the battery. Another problem could be the alternator, so the best thing to do is to measure the voltage of the outgoing current. Another problem could be worn or dirty spark plugs; finally, there could be electrical or electronic problems, such as broken or worn-out cables, a short circuit, or a faulty ECU unit.
