How to Replace the Timing Belt on a Toyota Avensis

Remove and replace the timing belt on a Toyota Avensis: lift the car on a column lift, remove the front wheel, use a screwdriver to take off the right wheel arch liner and the lower panel covering the engine. Once these operations are complete, remove the engine soundproofing panel and the timing belt cover. Using a suitable spanner, loosen the tensioner pulley and slide the belt off its seat. Use a socket wrench to unscrew the tensioner pulley securing bolt, remove the water pump (as shown in the video). Fit the new water pump (previously removed), the tensioner, and the belt itself, tightening everything with the socket wrench. Finally, refit the rivets with the wheel arch liner, the lower engine cover, and refit the wheel with the tyre onto the vehicle.
