Model: Volkswagen Golf
Golf V, MK 5, Golf 5
- Years 2003-2008 First remove the support with the pipes applied to the front of the tappet cover; unhook the connectors connected to the ignition coils and the rear breather pipe; then remove the coils complete with pipettes; then unscrew all the screws securing the tappet cover (it will also be necessary to remove the side screws that secure the timing belt cover); then pry with a screwdriver to remove the cover. At this point, remove the old gasket and carefully clean the seat (also on the cover) before applying the new one. Apply the new gasket on the cover and proceed backwards for reassembly by inserting the new seals around the fixing screws.
