How to Replace Engine Oil and Oil Filter on Volkswagen Touran

Model: Volkswagen Touran MK 1, 1T - Years 2003-2015

To replace the oil filter and engine oil on a Volkswagen Touran, first engage the handbrake and lift the bonnet. Remove the engine cover and disconnect the vacuum valve connector, then unscrew the pipe supports using a T30 Torx spanner. Clean the cap of the oil filter housing; unscrew the cap along with the old filter element using a 32 mm socket. Place the filter cartridge in a container. Unscrew the oil filler cap. Drain all the oil into a 5-litre waste oil container. Once all the oil has drained, remove the oil filter. Screw on the oil cap and tighten it well. Install the new filter using a torque wrench. Reconnect the vacuum valve connector. Top up with new oil, using a funnel, approximately 4.3 litres.
