How to replace the oil filter on a Volvo S40? Follow this guide: Open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the front bonnet and secure it with the provided prop. Remove the engine soundproofing panel. Next, using a socket or screwdriver, remove the securing pins of the metal clamp on the ventilation pipe. Remove the securing pin of the container that holds the oil filter. Extract the worn filter and insert a new one. Finally, refit the filter and the associated parts.
