To reset the service light on a Volvo V40, turn on the instrument cluster by turning the key, then press and hold the "OK" button located at the end of the lever to the left of the steering wheel. A red light will start flashing, and when it disappears completely from the instrument cluster, you can turn it off. At this point, turn it on again to confirm that the service light has disappeared, and you can then turn off the ignition key.
