As shown in this tutorial, replacing the tail light bulbs in a BMW 3 Series is an extremely simple and quick task. First, ensure the key is not in the ignition, then open the trunk. Using a plastic trim tool to avoid leaving marks, pry off the cover located on the inner edge of the headlight in question. Next, remove the two mounting bolts with a 10mm socket wrench, pull the light assembly outward, and detach it from the body. At this point, open the inner plate, replace the bulb, and reassemble everything.
