How to Change the Front Brake Pads on the Renault Berlingo II

Let's see how to change the front brake pads on the Renault Berlingo II: open the bonnet and the brake fluid reservoir. Lift the vehicle and remove the wheels. Using a flat screwdriver, lever between the old pad and the disc to retract the piston: this essential operation allows the new, thicker pads to fit. Remove the caps, unscrew the two bolts of the caliper with a 7mm Allen key, and take off the retaining spring, ensuring it doesn't spring away. Clean the pad support thoroughly with a wire brush. Remove rust and debris for free movement, then fit the new pads, applying copper grease to the contact areas (ensuring it never touches the friction surfaces). Refit the caliper, tighten the caliper bolt, then replace the spring and caps. Use a torque wrench for tightening and repeat on the other side. Refit the cap of the brake fluid reservoir, and pump the brake several times with the engine running until the pedal feels firm. Avoid harsh braking for the first 50 miles.
