Operation: How to replace the Ford Mondeo thermostat

To replace the thermostat on the Ford Mondeo we operate like this: first we remove the upper engine cover, remove the front grille by unscrewing the 2 upper pins unhooking the hooks, remove the pins that hold the headlight on the passenger side, unscrew the coolant cap , we unscrew the bracket that holds the refrigerant pipes in place with a 10mm wrench. We raise the car and operate from below: with a slotted screwdriver we unscrew the lower bolt of the radiator without removing it to bleed all the coolant by placing a container underneath, once all the liquid has come out screw the bolt with the slotted screwdriver and lower the 'car. We return to the engine compartment by removing the clamps that hold the coolant pipes with the help of long pliers, we remove the pipes themselves by putting some paper inside to prevent dirt from entering, we detach the connectors and with an 8mm socket wrench we unscrew the 3 bolts that hold the thermostat by removing it. With a spatula and paper we clean the thermostat seat; we take the new thermostat, spray some detergent, spread some sealant on the thermostat bolts, insert the new thermostat in its seat, screw the bolts with the 8mm socket wrench (then tighten them with a torque wrench at 6nm of torque), reconnect the pipes and clamps, connect the connectors, screw the pipe bracket with a 10mm socket wrench, clean the headlight connector by reconnecting it, position it and replace the fixing pins, refill the coolant up to the max notch, turn on the engine for a few minutes, put the engine cover back on and finally close the engine hood.
