Throttle Body Cleaning Instructions

Model: Mercedes Classe C W202 - Years 1993-2000

The throttle body is located at the entrance of the intake manifold and regulates the airflow entering the engine based on the accelerator pedal position: cleaning this device is essential for proper operation; first, disconnect the hose that connects the engine air filter to the throttle body and the connector attached to the throttle body itself; then, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the throttle body from the intake manifold along with the filter screen; proceed to clean both the throttle body and the filter, and if you want to clean the intake manifold as well, it is recommended to remove it and not spray anything inside: if any pieces of buildup detach, they could end up in the cylinders and block a valve; reverse the steps for reinstallation.
