Subaru Forester - Video tutorial

Model: Subaru Forester SG, MK 2 - Years 2002-2008
Part: Clutch
Operation: Clutch replacement instructions

Replacing the clutch requires good knowledge of general mechanics and some tools; then lift the car on the lift and start removing the front section of the exhaust pipe; then remove the left front wheel, the axle shaft fixing nut, the head of the suspension oscillating arm, that of the steering box tie rod in order to remove the axle shaft from the wheel hub; therefore extract the locking pin of the semi-shaft from the gearbox side and remove the semi-shaft itself; repeat the procedure also from the right side, remove the transmission shaft protective casings and disassemble the shaft itself. At this point, unscrew the gearbox fixing pins, disconnect the sockets, remove the starter motor and the air filter container to access the gearbox support below and the clutch actuator. Once the gearbox has been released, apply a support piston and remove it from its seat in order to access the clutch and replace the disc and pressure plate (clean the flywheel from dust residues) centering them with the appropriate tool; finally replace the thrust bearing inside the gearbox and reassemble everything.

How do you adjust the clutch cable on the Kia Picanto?

To be able to adjust the clutch cable of the Kia Picanto you need to open the hood so that you have access to the components inside the engine compartment: in order to reach the cable you will need to remove some components on the right side, such as the battery and the air filter. Below them you will find the clutch cable, which will have to be adjusted by screwing or loosening the bolt placed at the end of the cable. This will make the pedal harder or softer; after the adjustment, it will be possible to assemble all the components by closing the hood.
