The importance of installing an oil vapor recovery system

In this way, the vapors are not dispersed, but burned in the combustion chamber. It is convenient to install it on heavily used engines, which with wear increase the oil vapors that soil the intake. It is connected to the tube that comes from the rocker cover or base (where the vapors come out) and on the outlet it is reconnected to the engine's intake tube: an internal spiral creates turbulence, separating the oil particles from the vapor; the decanted oil accumulates in the bottom and can be emptied periodically. For installation, the original vapor recovery tube is connected, the decanter is mounted in an accessible point, the tubes are connected with sealant putty, and the device is fixed with double-sided tape or clamps. For naturally aspirated engines, the basic decanter is sufficient, while for turbo engines, a check valve is also needed to prevent the turbo pressure from pushing oil towards the engine.
