Before you start, sit in the driver's seat of your Volkswagen Golf. Begin by starting the engine by turning the key in the ignition. Next, press and hold the clutch pedal fully down for ten seconds.

Once the 10 seconds have passed, release the pedal. When you release the clutch pedal, the phrase "Start and Stop disabled" will appear on the digital instrument cluster, and you will have successfully completed the process.
