Replacement of Front Wheel Half Shaft

Model: Volkswagen Passat B6, 3C - Years 2005-2010

Obtain a replacement half shaft, then lift the vehicle securely and start by removing the wheel. The necessary tools are: a set of spanners, a 5mm Allen key, a set of screwdrivers, and a hammer. Once the wheel is removed, take off the brake caliper and support to free the shaft. Remove the brake disc. Apply deoxidising spray on the retaining bolts of the shock absorber and unscrew them. Also, remove the support under the shock absorber's wheel arch and free it from the steering arm. Remove the support under the vehicle's body that holds the half shaft. Now you can extract the half shaft. Remove the disc support and insert the new half shaft into the differential, then refit the support under the body. Refit the disc, brake caliper, shock absorber, and wheel.
