Change Oil on New Beetle

Do you want to change the oil and filter on the New Beetle? Here’s how to replace the oil and filter. Open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard and lift the front bonnet, securing it. Unscrew the large fastening bolt of the container cap where the oil filter is located. Lift the car on a jack and unscrew the bolt from the oil sump, allowing the fluid to drain into a container. Refill with new fluid and close the front bonnet. Replace the oil filter located under the car's engine compartment.
