How do you replace the battery in your New Beetle? This video explains the procedure. Open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, then lift the front bonnet, releasing the lock lever with your fingers, and secure it. Remove the plastic cover that conceals the battery, then use a socket spanner to unscrew the clamps from the two battery terminals. Extract the plastic guide and the worn battery. Position the new battery in the engine compartment, tighten the power clamps, and close the battery compartment.
