BMW Serie 3 - Video tutorial

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Spark plugs
Operation: Replacing the engine spark plugs

Start by removing the pollen filter compartment using a ratchet wrench by unscrewing the four screws and removing the rubber gasket. Remove the drawbar by unscrewing its bolts. Remove the engine guard by unscrewing the six bolts being careful not to drop them into the engine and unscrew the oil cap. Disconnect the coil cables, the first spark plug is located at the bottom of the well. Remove the connecting pipette upwards. In order not to confuse the cables, disconnect the first spark plug only. Using the special spark plug wrench, which has a rubber hooking device, insert it delicately on the spark plug head and unscrew it. Be careful not to let foreign bodies fall into the pit. Replace the spark plug with one of the same model by carefully inserting it into the well, again using the special wrench and turning it gently, checking that it is screwed on correctly. In case of effort, remove it and try again. The spark plugs must be screwed with a torque wrench, if you do not have the key screwed in without overtightening. Proceed with the same operation with the other spark plugs.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
