Replacing the timing belt on a Ford Mondeo MK5 2.0 diesel requires time and attention. Start by removing the left front wheel and the wheel arch lining, taking out the 10 mm bolts and clips. Disconnect the battery and the fuel filter support. Support the engine with a jack and remove the engine mount from the timing side. Remove the coolant expansion tank and the upper timing cover. Rotate the engine to top dead centre and lock the camshaft with an 8 mm pin and the flywheel with a special tool. Heat the crankshaft pulley bolt (for 4 minutes) before unscrewing it. Remove the pulley and the harmonic balancer (be careful not to damage it). Find the CONTITECH CT1140WP2 timing belt + pump kit on autoparti.it with code CT1140WP2 at a price of £162.98, including delivery charges. Replace the water pump (7 bolts of 11 mm), the tensioners, and the idler pulley. Clean the surfaces and install the new belt. Tension it with the Allen key, checking the tension indicator. Reassemble everything, reconnect the components, and fill the cooling system. Verify the timing by rotating the engine by hand and start it.
