Operation: How to replace the fuel pump on your Subaru Forester Mk4

The guide shows how to replace the fuel filter on the Subaru Forester Mk4. The first operation to carry out is to disconnect the fuel pump control fuse from the fuse box located on the right side of the engine compartment; perform a few ignitions of the engine to bring down the fuel pressure in the system. Remove the rear bench and the fuel pump protection panel. Disconnect the electric cable of the pump and clean the working compartment. Open the two green fuel hose clips and use a container to collect any fuel still in the system. Using an 8mm spanner, remove the workpiece mounting bolts and pull out the assembly. Remove the electrical connectors and gasket from the pump and uncouple the old filter. Once the old filter body has been extracted, replace it with the new element and put everything back in place. Once the check fuse has been refitted, turn the vehicle on and check for leaks. Close the pump compartment and refit the rear bench seat.
