It is advisable to carry out this maintenance with a cold engine to avoid contact with excessively hot elements; disassembling the EGR valve and the shutdown valve (which looks like a throttle body) is very simple: they are located one behind the other in the front part of the engine and just disconnect the intercooler hose and then unscrew the fixing pins of the two valves and those of the flange of the flue gas duct. Once the valves have been disassembled, Sini suggests checking the free rotation of the shut-off valve butterfly to exclude internal gear breakages, and testing the seal of the EGR valve actuator diaphragm with a manual vacuum pump. Once this is done, wash the pieces with a special cleaner, removing any residue of dirt and encrustation.

How to set the time on the Peugeot 308
