How to Open the Door if the VW Passat Battery is Flat

It may happen that even when pressing the remote key button to unlock the door lock, it does not activate, either because the remote battery is flat or the car battery is flat. In this case, you need to use the emergency key, which is the so-called blade or metal key stored inside the remote itself. Once you have extracted the blade, remove the cover applied to the door handle to access the lock. Under the cap, there is a small slot where you can insert the blade to remove it, taking care to keep the handle open and not scratch the bodywork. Once the cap is removed, you can insert the key into the lock and open it.
