Replacing the Timing Belt on a Ford 1.0 Ecoboost Engine

In this video, learn how to change the timing belt on a Ford 1.0 Ecoboost engine: the replacement interval is 150,000 miles or 10 years. The belt is in an oil bath, so it is essential to use only Ford Longlife 5W20 oil. This is a rather lengthy job, as the engine must be almost completely dismantled; you need to remove the cover, air conditioning unit, alternator, turbo intake pipe, exhaust pipe, catalyst, and intake manifold. The first cylinder adjustment is based on two positions referring to marks set at 1 o'clock, while the second pushes it towards the crankshaft. Remove the starter motor, insert the flywheel lock, and with the appropriate tool, loosen the crankshaft bolt. After removing the two locking tools, install the support for the torque multiplier. Remove the seal ring at the bottom, then unscrew the valve cover, removing 20 screws, of which 4 are M10 and 16 are M6. Remove the cover and position the locking tool on the camshaft (the flat side must face upwards). The belt consists only of a tensioner pulley and the belt itself, so just loosen the tensioner and remove the belt. To refit, simply follow the reverse order. It is advisable to also replace the oil pump belt, for which there is no fixed replacement interval. For the belt refitting, keep in mind the diagram shown in the video; the belt must be fitted anti-clockwise, and the tensioner will adjust it automatically. If the timing is set correctly, the adjustment is complete. Before refitting, clean all sealing surfaces of the front cover and oil sump, apply approved adhesive, and then screw it in with the specified torque.
