How to perform a DIY service on a Peugeot 308 1st series 1.6 HDi 109 HP Diesel 9HY (DV6TED4)

Doing a DIY service on your Peugeot 308 1.6 HDi is feasible with a bit of patience and the right tools. First thing: car on flat ground, hood open. Drain the old oil by unscrewing the plug under the oil pan (be careful not to burn yourself), change the oil filter by unscrewing it with a strap wrench and install a new one, well-oiled on the gasket. Top up with about 3.8L of 5W30 oil and close everything. Then, air filter: open the box, replace it, and close it. Finally, fuel filter: disconnect the pipes calmly, change the filter, reassemble and bleed by pumping fuel with the pump. Check the levels again, start the engine and make sure everything is okay. Reset the service light and you're good to go! If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, and it's understandable, make an appointment at an experienced workshop.
