A 1999 Ford Cougar Where the Engine Turns but Won't Start

In this video, you will see a Ford Cougar where the starter motor turns, but the engine does not start. The diagnostic procedure followed was to listen for a buzz when turning the key, indicating that the pump is working, but it does not activate when attempting to start the engine. This is the first clue that leads us to rule out a fuel problem and suspect an electrical or sensor issue. Using a multimeter, the YouTuber checked that 12 volts are normally arriving at the fuel pump connectors, which are therefore fine. The suspicion falls on the sensors that tell the ECU when to inject fuel and create a spark. In particular, the crankshaft position sensor, which monitors the speed and position of the crankshaft. If it is damaged, the ECU does not know when to inject petrol and create a spark, thus blocking the start for safety. The text with the ohmmeter confirms this: the sensor remains open, so it is as if it is "dead"; therefore, simply replace it and the engine will start normally.
