How to replace engine oil and filter on a Range Rover Sport? Follow these steps for the replacement: Lift the vehicle on a column lift and remove the oil pan bolt. Let the oil drain into a container (you can also use a pump to extract the fluid). Lower the vehicle back to the ground, then open the car door and pull up the hood release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, and lift the hood. Secure it in place. Using a socket wrench, remove the oil filter, take it out, and install a new one, ensuring it fits snugly around the threads. Refill with new oil.
